NYC and making the most of the last day

Sunday 3 June

Pictures of the apartment, as promised :)

That's me on the sofa bed, ZY and WY on the single mattress on the living room floor, and Dad, Mom in their tiny bedroom, which really was just a queen sized bed and some shelves for hanging clothes.

This is taken with a wide-angle camera.

My view of the apartment interior when i wake up in the morning.

The lift & staircase lobby.

The apartment facade on 29th Street.

Bagels for breakfast, in NYC of course we had to do this on our last day.

Very delicious.

WY getting us into MoMA with her Cultural Benefits card. Cool! She could bring in 2 persons for free and unlimited persons at USD5 per person.

What a cheery painting!

The MoMA courtyard

Fake subway signpost.

View of the MoMA courtyard from the exhibition floor.

Large museum atrium

with slivers of viewing panels for a peep of what's behind.

Boobies. All kinds. Mostly large ones. I wonder why.

Everyone was taking pictures of Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night.

Water Lilies by Claude Monet. I think he did a few versions.

No flash photography please.

Furniture and Interiors section

Uh.

Architecture section.

Uh.

Ooh. Mondrian. This painting was the generator for my First Year Architecture school project, where we had to design and build a 3D model of a house abstracted from a 2D mondrian painting.

Nice posters.

Typeface.

Walk the Talk and Dance until Dawn.

Green shoes for the green painting.

Stripes.

White on white.

Mom's blouse was brown with pencil thin white lines too.

Dad channelling Elvis.

Reflections.

This was hung off a wall.

Interior of Armani Exchange on 5th Avenue.

A little bit Zaha Hadidish? Very nice.

It swirls down to the basement too.

Okay that's all we did inside here. Take photos of the swirling staircase ha ha.

Dad outside Trump Tower. I didn't really have to caption this picture, did i?

Cute dog!!

Checking out the famous Apple Store on 5th Avenue. I was told it's open 24 hours daily. ZY said they actually re-did the glass box to change it from a 6 paneled face to a 3 paneled face when technology allowed for bigger glass panels so there could be fewer joints. So much money hor?

Dad testing the Macbook Air.

It was Israel Day today and there was a huge procession along 5th Avenue so getting across at certain major junctions was almost impossible. At some stretches we had to wait something like 45 minutes to get across.

The faces of these kids said it all. Dad killed time while waiting by channelling positive energy into photography these kids.

Check out the crowd!

Finally we managed to cross over to Central Park where we meant to have lunch but it started drizzling. Central Park is really beautiful.

The Fountain at Central Park

John Lenon's Strawberry Fields & Imagine.

A very late lunch near Central Park cos we covered quite a huge area of Central Park.

Lincoln Centre for the Perfoming Arts

Main Plaza of the Lincoln Centre.

The Metropolitan Opera House behind.

Avery Fisher Hall, home of the New York Philharmonic.

The floating ring bench at the Main Plaza of the Lincoln Centre.

After this, it was some souvenior shopping at the bazaar across the road from the Lincoln Centre and at Century 21 next to Lincoln Centre.

Subway to West Village and Bleecker Street.

Checking out a bit more of Bleecker Street, the street with the designer shops which we didn't cover the last time but we got there close to 8pm and most of the shops were closed.

Waiting outside Cafe Condesa, for our last dinner in NYC.
