Shanghai Sidewalk

Chestnuts a-roasting, alongside other fruit and nut peddlers outside Xin Wang where we had lunch every day cos it was near the office building we were working at in Shanghai.

That's Xin Wang at the corner of the sidewalk, don't think it's in any way affiliated to the one back home.

And nope, this isn't my colleague in case you were wondering. He is a random passer-by who happened to get caught by my iPhone camera.

August Update

Seems like Autumn in NY is not gonna happen this year, instead i'll be heading Down Under to see my newborn niece in Brisbane then hop over to Melbourne to meet Cheryl, and after that in November it'll be HK with Lai Yeow with both our parents!

Work Trip Treats

When the day's work is all done, and we're not having dinner with the clients...


Just like any other ordinary beach scene huh...


And then the storm came...

Hopped over to La Verandah, a neighbouring resort on Phu Quoc Island, for dinner and drinks

Meanwhile back in Ho Chi Minh City, we ate at my favourite 'old world charm' vietnamese restaurant, Anh Vien, where i tried Banh Xeo, a vietnamese pancake dish for the first time. I'd post a picture of it if i had a better camera.

My colleagues suggested dessert and drinks at The Refinery, a bistro type eating place housed in an old french colonial building with a big courtyard, a hidden gem tucked away from the hustle-bustle of Hai Ba Trung Street, just opposite Park Hyatt.


Great place, great ambience.

I really wanted to try too but only the kids seemed to be the ones doing so i chickened out. In the end, Auntie Shirley asked me to help paint one for her daughter. I was secretly happy. Yay!
